A walk to Remember
Since I have written one of my interest is movies especially romantic movies, I think i have to write something about this one.A walk to remember was released year 2002 starring with Mandy Moore and Shane West.The role of Shane West was a rebellious teen while Mandy Moore was good daughter, student and yet was describe by her school mates as an outsider geek.Yeah! this was released year 2002 but I watched this I think in between year of 2013 to 2014. This movie actually made me cry during and after I watched it. This story will give you hope in everything , It will make you fall in love again .I don't know but I just love the idea of being in love. Maybe some people will find this a corny movie or a tragic one but for me it is not . They have found love in each other and that's until the end .I think it is still good to learn to love and be love in return other than not having love at all.
This popular rebellious student Landon and his friends threatened with expulsion because of underage drinking in the school property and one of the student got injured after a prank gone wrong.In order not to be expelled Landon have to participate in school play and tutor his fellow students. During this function he noticed Jamie Sullivan (Mandy Moore) who was so called as geek, she always wear sweatshirt and long dresses or how we describe in Filipino word as "Manang". Landon needs Jamie's help to learn his dialog in their play,since then they began to be friends.Landon friends didn't like him being friends with the geek girl(Jamie) because of that, they try to ruin Jamie's image, they did a cruel prank to Jamie but Landon did not like it ,He protected Jamie in opposing his friends.
Landon asked for Jamie's father permission if they could go out on a date, on their first date he fulfill Jamie's wishlist. He made it possible, such as being in two places at once, get a tattoo. After that date Landon Asked her if she have any plans for college then she confesses that she's not making any plans because she has "Leukemia".She's also not responding to any treatment.He was shocked about what Jamie rebelled.
You know what ,it must be a tragic thing knowing that Jamie (Mandy Moore ) was sicked. But still Landon ( Shane West) never give up his love for Jamie . I am not really sure how is this in real situation ? Yes! How a man will react if he found out that the love of his life is sick and it's terminal?Does his reaction will be like Landon ? He will love unconditionally without any reason.If a man found out that his love is sick , will he stay ? Because this what Landon did for Jamie he stay for her , he did everything to make Jamie happy they both did their best to fight , to stay strong. Being sick or anything else is not how you define what love you can give . For me love is not a selfish thing .
His love for her is real , I don't think i can give any word to describe what they have but it feels so good wishing that one day you'll find something like what they have. The love in this movie is for eternally , this love is genuine and pure. You can see in this movie how Landon changed for Jamie . He did everything, he studied well ,he become a good son and a good person. It is nice to see a man who once a rebellious became a good person in the end because of love and I think this really happen in real life..
It might not be easy to conquer things like cancer, but with the help of LOVE you can fight through the rough times. Landon never give up that Jamie will heal but sometimes even though we did everything or we did our best when it's destined to happened, it will. Jamie's condition grown worse and she was sent to the hospital .During the days they we're at hospital, Jamie gives a book to Landon that once belonged to her mother .She also said to Landon that God maybe sent him to help her fight the difficult situation. I love the phrase that Jamie read in the book .
"Love is always patient and kind. It is never jealous.Love is never boastful or conceited.It is never rude or selfish, It does not take offense and is not resentful."
She was sent home and start for home care . Landon built a large telescope for Jamie in order to see the one time comet in spring. He brought this in the balcony and there they have this wonderful view of that comet. In that balcony they also dance in the song of "Someday we'll know " by Mandy Moore and Jonathan Foreman ,which is also one of my favorite song of Mandy .Landon asked Jamie to marry him and she said "YES".They get married in the church where Jamie's Mother and her Father got married. This so pure , a love the conquers anything . I cried , there's sting in my heart because of the sadness and happiness for them .Landon and Jamie spent their time together during that summer. Jamie died when summer ends.It's hard for me to accept it but this is really what happened .
Years passed ,Landon finished his studies.He visited Jamie's father and he was sorry for not fulfilling Jamie's ambition " to witness a miracle" . But Jamie's father said that it was Landon her "miracle".He went outsides Jamie's house and he now understand that their love is like the wind , you cannot see it but you can feel it.
That songs plays "Cry" by Mandy Moore and it leave a scar in my heart . How I wished that this movie ends like those kind of movie that the girl recover in the end and they live happily but sad to say , it's not like that . I still love the flow of the story, it still a happy ending for me . Like what Landon said the love that they have is like the wind , we might not see it but we can feel it.
I am writing this just to express my thoughts , feelings and opinion about this movie. I really love this movie, i love everything about it the cast,the story, character,songs etc. To be honest I really don't know how I can express myself right now . There was a time after I have watched this that want to see them together like a real couple . I think i have watched the a few times and since i think i have missed this movie , yes i am seriously gonna watch this again.
Please if you want something to watch that has lesson and if you want to cry , i will recommend you this movie. I know this is an old movie but i considered this awesome.Also please listen to Mandy Moore's songs like "Cry" and "Someday we'll know", I can guaranteed you'll love those songs i still have that songs on my playlists.I really don't know whats got into my mind on blogging something ,this might not perfect but like what my header stated I just love doing things that makes me happy .
