Saturday shift

Nakagraveyard shift ang lola ninyo. Off na ang mga colleagues ko, at may 3-hour shift pa ako. This actually happens every Saturday.

Right now, 11:25 PM to be exact, I started at 10:00 PM and this will end at 1:00 AM. The good thing about my Saturday shift is that it’s only 3 hours on duty, but on weekdays, my shift starts at 10:00 PM and ends at 7:00 AM.

I’ve been working as a call center agent for 2 years now and counting. I admit, this is not an easy job, especially since we work the graveyard shift—dapat nga nun tulog na ang tao.

On this shift, I was assigned to receive calls, make call backs, and respond to emails. Since it is Saturday, it is considered low call volume, which means I don’t usually receive many calls compared to weekdays. On weekdays (Monday to Friday), we have lots of calls every single day, and after that long shift, we all look like zombies (HAHAHAHA).

So what I do every Saturday shift when I’m done with emails and voicemails and just waiting for calls is I go online—Facebook and, of course, my best friend, YouTube.

Watching: I am watching some Aldub compilation “kilig” videos. Yes!!! Guilty as charged—I am a 100% ALDUB fan. I super, super love them both. Seriously, I watch Kalyeserye or any videos of Maine Mendoza and Alden Richards again and again (paulit-ulit na lang). It’s my favorite!

They make me laugh. I just don’t know how to explain how much I love this love team (ALDUB). I can’t contain my feelings for this couple (ubusan ng feels). I always wish that they will end up together (OH!! Please).

Earlier, before I logged in to take phone calls, I was doing emails, and while doing that, I was listening to new songs like He Like That by Fifth Harmony, Attention by Charlie Puth, and Future Me by Echosmith.

I really love music. I think I can live without the internet (Facebook or YouTube) as long as I have my phone with songs on it and my earphones. Maybe I could get through the whole day.

Eating: LALA Chocolate. I bought two packs, and now I am controlling myself not to finish both packs (hahaha). There are times when I can’t stop myself from eating.

Time check: 12:10 AM. Thank you, I’m finally about to finish my shift today. I was able to sleep for at least 4 hours, but the hard part is that sometimes, once you wake up during the day, it’s difficult to fall asleep again.

After my shift, I’ll do some online stuff again—haist! Of course, I’m going to watch ALDUB.

                                                                        DREAMING

Right now, I would do anything to get another vacation with my family. I just want to get a breather and some rest from these never-ending struggles (undying talaga, pero nakakapanghina din minsan ang kaingayan ng lungsod).

I’ve been imagining it for a long time now—a long rest (mahabang pahinga lang sana, okay na). But sadly, it may take a while before I can do that. So for now, I need to do my best in my field to keep myself going.

Have a great day yow!!!!
